I am the Norm

Somebody convinced me that I should try blogging.  I have been writing Days of Our Lives emails which I send to my friends regularly for a long time.  I have been a wannabe writer for years now.  My computer skills are minimal but perhaps they will improve over time.
I live downstream from an unincorporated town named Lorane, outside of Eugene, Oregon.  I cut my teeth writing letters to the editor in the Eugene Register-Guard when a developer and the Lane County's Land Management Division tried to steam roll me and do a major housing development in my neighborhood on the flood plain of the Siuslaw River.  When I refer to Lame County, it isn't a typo.
I fought and lost to the LMD/developer complex on the local levels but finally turned it around at Oregon's Court of Appeals.  The entire Eugene Springfield are was able to follow the epic land use battle on the ed pages.
After a while I burned out fighting city hall.  When the developers win, they make millions of dollars packing more houses in the flood plain or where ever they can get away with it.  When the little people win, they pay their lawyer.  There needs to be some way for little people to make millions of dollars defending land use laws.
My hobbies are cutting firewood and riding motorcycles.  I wrote most of a trash novel a while back and got zero interest in it so sort of lost interest.  I can get all the abuse and rejection I could possibly want at the salt mines so I don't need to seek it out.  I am planning to retire the end of this coming June so maybe I will have to look for abuse and rejection in the publishing world.
